I'd like to see you nerd out over what you care about, Mark! That's where the magic always is: when the author is so wildly enthusiastic they have to be dragged away from the keyboard by concerned friends & family - that's the stuff worth reading. 🙂
I'm all for humor but also believe you have to write about what YOU enjoy. It will show in your writing and keep readers interested.
