Haikus about work
For the STSC (Soaring Twenties Social Club) Symposium
A collection of haikus on the subject of work:
They sweep the white floor,
Collection of the work day;
Dream soaked dust and ink.
Pound or be pounded:
Flesh, stone, nails, wood, finances;
Pulverization.
Wipe up the noses,
Make food, dress, fold and spindle;
Emotional toil.
Type think type think type:
Birth the words, shape the phrases;
Soul on the pages.
Line up the young minds:
Facts and forms; forms of factions,
Programming their heads.
Yell at young athletes
Build them up, break them right down
Pressure for the prize.
Towering throne, sit;
Electrons flow, fortunes rise;
Others’ backs broken.
"Type think type think type"
You know this is interesting, but my brain kept trying to force this to say "Think type think type think" rather than the way you wrote it. Not sure why. The effect was to force me to stop reading the haikus too quickly and really land on the line as it was. Which is a powerful thing to do, underlining the purpose of haiku.
So fascinating, lovely phrases, and seeing a connecting thread of cycles of creation and destruction.
